No, it's not that. It's a marathon of another kind. It's a marathon of parties, eating, visiting, gift-giving, opening presents and having lots of fun. Between Christmas Eve and Boxing Day and thereafter, we've eaten and drank probably a million calories. Also amongst the kids, they've got presents and toys coming out of their ears after four rounds of presents from family and friends. Everyone's happy. Afterall...'tis the season to be jolly!
The night before Christmas.
I hosted a family dinner on the eve of Christmas. Sorry, no photos of my culinary spread as I was a one-man-show, or rather, one-woman-show that night, so I was busy enough just cooking up a storm, let alone take photos :) :) :)
However, here are pictures of the kids that night...not going to bed...but waiting impatiently by the Christmas tree for Santa to plonk down their presents from the sky. Actually, in our case, he'd sneak in through the door as we don't have a chimney.
Ahhh yes, Santa needs his refuel while delivering presents around the world. I think he'd appreciate cookies and milk more than a GPS. Even the reindeers get a treat of cabbage and carrots :)
Yay! Morning is here and Santa did good. Wait...one kids photo shoot first before opening presents. Noticed the forced, faked and barely-there smiles...

Our usual tradition is a swim and a lunch at Peter's and Kerry's house. It was a humid day, so what's better than to splash out in the pool. Great way to work up an appetite and energy to open round two of presents.
Brandon was totally hard at work at assemblying Thomas' foosball set. He'd make a good engineer...if not a lawyer, since he's so quick-witted and fantastic at back-chatting.
Christmas Dinner at Ah Kung's and Grandma's
This year Kaka (youngest uncle) and Auntie Jessica came up from Brisbane to celebrate Christmas. The whole family is here with the addition of little cousin, Hannah. She's a bit shy and very clingy to her mum and dad. Can't blame her as all the rest of her cousins are like wild animals. Very loud indeed, they are. David, on the other hand, is having a ball especially with Alyssa. He's been playing Barbies and "Mums and Dads" with her. Hmmm...looks like she has him wrapped around her finger already.
Christmas night at the grandparents panned out well with Chloe making a welcoming speech and Brandon giving a guitar performance for the family.
Ah Pak doing a bit of walkies with Jordan. He's definitely not missing out on any action.
Boxing Day Brunch at the Denale's.
Uncle Angelo and Auntie Ross hosted Boxing Day brunch at their house this year. A Chop Suey annual Christmas gathering. Mmmm...can't say no to Auntie Ross' cooking. Loads of bacon, sausages, eggs, hash browns and meat pies - great diet for the strong coronary. Actually, this is Angelo's forte. Auntie Ross made the much coronary-friendly dishes of mushroom and spinach and grilled tomatoes.
Here are some "artistic" shots of Brandon blowing bubbles. Rodney bought a new DSLR, Canon 60D and we had a bit of a photo shoot competition. 60D vs 7D. Bubbles and kids make great photo practice. They make the best subjects.

I saw a plate of cookies,raw cabbage and carrots.Who became a vegetarian?
I love the photos, and had planned to visit the studio to print out some of them. Started off to select the photos in the morning, but in between sending grandma for haemodialysis and cooking the evening meal, I couldnt get to print the photos! Probably, this will have to wait until next week. Happy New Year 2011, Darwin!
