Uh hmmm....I did tell you it was a busy weekend for us. On Sunday, Alyssa's callisthenics club was invited to perform at Darwin Waterfront's 2nd birthday celebrations. The little girls have been practising for weeks and were buzzing with excitement when the day came. Here they are being primped and made-up. They even got a surprise visit from the Rainbow Fairy who gave them sweet words of encouragement :)
Spectators waiting patiently on the lawn for the show to start. Well, for most of us anyway. Someone just got to comfortable being cuddled to notice the fuss around....
And let the show begin! First up...Alyssa's "Tarzan" dance. Apologies for the bad cinematography. Cameraman had to slide around on the grass while holding baby and camera. Not to mention, videos shot from compact camera, so quality is not to standard. We really ought to get a proper video camera :/
After in-between performances by other classes, came Alyssa's second performance...cheerleading. Well, sort of. More of dancing with pom-poms without cheering.
To wind up the show....a soothing Ballerina Box dance.
Great job, Alyssa! We're so proud of you doing your personal best :) Of course, she couldn't resist a little fun herself at the jumping castles and then at the circus tent where the older girls did a bit of hula-hooping :)
