Territory Day Fireworks.

1st of July is Territory Day, a celebration of self-government in the Northern Territory. It has been for 31 years. Only on this day, that NT is allowed public fireworks. The whole day is a fireworks buying frenzy for Territorians.

Come 7pm, it was as if Darwin was plonked into the middle of the Gulf War. The sky was lighted up in an array of gigantic rainbow sparks; crackling, popping and booming into the night.

The kids had fun. Luckily Ah Koong and Grandma's house is on a hill, so we got full view of fireworks all around us: the city, the beaches and inner suburbs.

ps. please excuse the bad photography. my skills are just not there when it comes to night photography.

This one was a fluke caught in the right moment.

This one makes me laugh. This photo is just so Brandon. Sorry for the blurriness. I was trying to supervise the kids, run backwards and take the photo all at the same time!

The city skyline in the background. Actually it was litted up much more, but just don't have the skills to capture the bright lights in the dark .

The Four Musketeers.....
